Crossover day is Thursday March 6. That's the deadline for legislation to have a chance at becoming law IF it gets out of committee and is passed by either the House or Senate. Once again our Dekalb delegation has worked hard crafting dozens of excellent bills that would help Georgians. But few of these bills ever get a hearing let alone a vote. Meanwhile the Republican majority steamrolls some awful legislation because they have the numbers to pass whatever they want.
We are going to make sure that the public knows about what the Republicans have done. Please join us on Thursday March 6 to support our legislators! Wear your favorite DeKalb Dems T-shirt!
We will meet in the Coverdale Legislative Office Building in room 510 (across from the Capitol) at 4:00 where we will learn about some of these bills. Next we will fan out to visit the offices of key legislators - to thank our own delegation and to let the Republicans know we don't like what they are doing. Finally - we will gather on the South Stairs of the Capitol to support the Democratic legislators in the press conference as they contrast the GOP bills with Democratic legislation.
