Our Volunteer Opportunities
Research and Contact Generation Volunteer:
We need several volunteers who will perfrom online research for the dates and locations of social and civil rights marches and other similar events across the country. Once vetted the events will be added to our calendar of events page on our website.
We also need volunteers who can compile a list of activists, politicians, TV and radio personalities we can send press releases to, obtain interviews with and invite to our events.
Every little bit helps. Even if you can only give us a few minutes a week to peruse the internet for the information we need, vett the information and contacts before entering the details in ourdata database.
Event / March Organizer:
Multiple Hometowns & Cities Accross the Country
As an Event / March organizer a voluteer will be responsible for “getting the word out” in their town or city. They will be the point of contact for the event.
They will be required to obtain poster making materials, (we will reimburse them or items can be shipped to them).
We provide poster making supplies at each of our events. In the past, we have found a sponsor for coffee, water and simple snacks. People march with more enthusiasm when they’ve had a snack and something to drink.
The organizer will speak for a few minutes before the event and gather emails from those who want to invited to new events. Index cards are agreat way to gather contact info. We plan to purchase contact gathering software at some point.
